What a cookie is
A cookie is a small value stored by your browser so a website can remember necessary state between requests. Similar technologies can also measure activity or personalize advertising, but those optional uses are not currently enabled on the standalone Fractal Sounds storefront.
The Portal session cookie
After a successful login, Fractal Sounds sets a cookie named fractal_portal_session. It is required to keep you signed in and authorize access to licenses and protected downloads. It is HTTP-only, secure on HTTPS, limited to same-site use and expires after 30 days or when you sign out. The cookie contains a random session token, not your password or payment information.
Stripe checkout
Purchases are completed on Stripe-hosted checkout pages. Stripe may use cookies and similar technology for payment security, fraud prevention and checkout operation under Stripe's own privacy and cookie practices.
Embedded and linked services
Some pages link to or embed content from services such as YouTube or Google. Video embeds use YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain where implemented. Opening or interacting with an external service can allow that provider to process information under its own policy.
Analytics and advertising
The storefront can load Google Analytics only after you choose “Allow analytics.” Before that choice, the Google tag is blocked and no Analytics request is sent. When allowed, Fractal Sounds measures page views, product views, checkout starts and confirmed purchases without sending checkout email addresses or payment details. Advertising storage, advertising user data and personalized advertising remain disabled.
Your controls
Use “Analytics choices” in the footer to allow or withdraw optional analytics. Withdrawing consent removes accessible Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page with the tag blocked. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking the necessary Portal session cookie will prevent sign-in and protected downloads from working correctly, but it will not prevent browsing public product pages.
